SIGNIFICANCE????????? The Eiffel Tower was only supposed to be temporary. It was designed by Gustave Eiffel designed the tower for a temporary Exposition Universelle where a lot of other constructions were happening. It was so strange that it became popular.

There are five elevators that run from the ground to the second floor of the Tower. There are two sets of two elevators that run from the second floor to the third floor. The Tower uses 10,000 light bulbs during the day and 20,000 light bulbs during the night for the light show.

The original Eiffel Tower was 312 meters, equivalent to 1023.62 feet. Today, the tower is 324 meters, equivalent to 1062.99 feet because of a radio antenna addition. The Eiffel Tower is divided into three platforms. The first platform is 57 meters, the second platform is 115 meters, and the third platform is 276 meters. The Tower is standing strong because of metal, rivets, beams, and other components that will work.
